Mumbai: While the delay in the launch of the app has inconvenienced Ganpati mandals in terms of their preparations, there are complaints that the online facility for submitting the applications is not working properly.

The mandals can forward their applications online, wherein further the applicant is required to visit the civic ward office to get NOC from the traffic and fire department to complete the permission procedure. However, the online system itself is sluggish, claimed the umbrella body BSGSS of the Ganpati mandals. “Yesterday, I made several mandals from the ‘N’ ward (Ghatkopar) submit their application online, but the process wasn’t smooth at all. Several times the website stopped working, delaying the process even more,” said Naresh Dahibhawkar, president of BSGSS.

The online process was commenced, as the regular system i.e. single window clearance at ward level was sluggish and more time consuming. However, the online facility also did not prove to be fruitful for the mandals, due to frequent shut downs and errors in the website.
