Bombay HC rejects Anees Ansari bail plea

Ansari’s bail plea has been rejected thrice since December 2014 by sessions court.

Advocate Mateen Shaikh, on behalf of Anees, argued that the applicant has been charged for murder whereas he has not done anything apart from chatting on social media.

Mumbai: The Bombay high court on Thursday rejected the bail application filed by city-based software engineer Anees Ansari, arrested for allegedly conspiring to blow up US establishments in the city. Advocate Mateen Shaikh, on behalf of Anees, argued that the applicant has been charged for murder whereas he has not done anything apart from chatting on social media, which does not amount to any preparation to commit a crime.

Ansari’s bail plea has been rejected thrice since December 2014 by sessions court. The framing of charges is set for August 1.
