Mumbai: The two-month-old infant Prince Rajbhar continues to battle respiratory infection in the civic-run KEM Hospital, but doctors treating him said the situation is under control.

The two-month-old infant was initially admitted to K.E.M Hospital for treating his heart condition. Unfortunately, Prince suffered 22 per cent burns on the right side of his face and body on November 7, after the nodes of an electrocardiogram (ECG) machine caught fire owing to a short-circuit in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The accident led to the amputation of his left arm.

Prince’s condition is  improving but he continues to be on ventilator.

Dean Dr Hemant Deshmukh, said, “Respiratory infection is currently under control. Antibiotics are also being continued. The burns are under dressing and experts are managing the process.”
