Mumbai: Lashing at the Centre over diamond businessman Nirav Modi’s fraud, Shiv Sena on Saturday advised that the government should make Nirav Modi the governor of the RBI and called him BJP’s partner. The Sena said that farmers are dying for a few hundred rupees but the industrialists have cheated the country with Rs 1.5 lakh crore rupees and they are still “protected”.

“The country is running only on advertisement and crores of rupees are being spent on it. When Raghuram Rajan exposed financial frauds before the country, he was removed as the RBI governor. Now, Nirav Modi should be made the governor to sort out the financial frauds,” the Sena said in the editorial of the mouthpiece Saamana. It also questioned the photo of Nirav Modi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in recent financial Davos summit. The PNB has lodged two financial fraud complaints of Rs 11400 crore and Rs 280 crore against Nirav Modi, his family members and Mehul Choksi.
