MU declares M.Com, B.Com results, 23,100 under RR category still pending.

Mumbai University

Mumbai: Out of the 73,430 students, whose results were in ‘RR’ (reserved results) category, the University of Mumbai (MU) managed to clear 50,330 results till Friday. Now only 23,100 results under RR category are pending. However, the number of students under this RR category could have increased on Thursday as the MU declared the results of M.Com and B.Com.

Out of the 73,430 cases, the number of students from the Commerce stream is less as their results were declared late as compared to that of the remaining streams especially Arts, Management and Engineering. “We will be declaring the pending results as soon as possible, so there are high possibilities of the number of RR cases increasing, but we have a good number of teachers, and the system is working fine. So assessing the papers won’t be an issue,” said the acting controller of examinations, Dr Arjun Ghatule.

The varsity has been continuously trying to declare the remaining results, which fall under the ‘reserved’ category. These results have been released in phases. Even if evaluation of papers of ten students’ is complete, the varsity is declaring and uploading their results on the MU’s server. Another issue that is bothering the students is the terminologies such as ‘Not Issued’, ‘Not Announced’, ‘Announced Later’, etc, which have been appearing on the scorecard of the students. Mr Ghatule said, “All these terms are just various names of RR. These means that either the students’ assessment of the answer scripts is pending or it’s misplaced.”

MU’s acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Devanand Shinde said, “Things are falling in place thanks to the coordination, proper management, better communication between the teachers (assessors) and officials. On Thursday we declared the results of M.Com which was quite challenging, and by the next week all the pending results will be out.”

Assessment for revaluation from Monday
Mumbai: The assessment for the revaluation process of around 26,542 students is all set to kick-start from Monday. It mostly includes students from Engineering, BSc and BA. As BCom and MCom results will be declared, the number of applications for revaluation is expected to increase. Along with revaluation, the number of applications seen for photocopies of the answer sheet is 5,837.

While for revaluation, engineering students top the chart with over 16,664, followed by Science students (2,109) and Law students (1,284). Streams like Arts and Technology have received the lowest number of applications. Engineering students also topped the list of those who have applied for photocopies of their marksheets (3,337), followed by Science students (520) and Technology students (300).

MU officials predict the number of applications for photocopies and revaluation will increase after the declaration of the results of the Commerce stream. Moreover, the varsity won’t have a deadline for filling revaluation forms this year. “We are declaring results in phases and every day some results or the other are being declared. Hence, students are free to fill the revaluation forms after their results are declared. There won’t be any last day or deadline,” said an official.
