Mumbai: Led by Maharashtra’s chief secretary Swadheen Kshatriya, several officials working with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and railways took part in Sunday’s 14th edition of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, in which over 42,000 individuals took part. Among the participants was Western Railway’s (WR) 26-man strong team of officers associated with the Mumbai Urban Transport Project III (MUTP) project.

The 26-member strong Metro-3 team led by Ashwini Bhide, MD, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRC), successfully completed the 6-km-long Dream Run of Mumbai Marathon from CST to Metro cinema. Members of Team MMRC donned special T-shirts with its slogan “Connecting the unconnected”. “I am very happy that our team successfully completed the Dream Run. People got decent information about city’s first fully underground project through our placards, handouts etc. it was our endeavour to reach out to maximum people through this platform,” said Ms Bhide (IAS).

WR’s contingent included various senior officers and their families. Mukul Jain, divisional railway manager of Mumbai Central Division, along with various, principal heads of department and their families were also present on this occasion. To create awareness for voters, BMC schoolchildren also took part in the Mumbai Marathon.
