Five youths die in freak accident near Shirdi

Nashik: Five persons aged between 22 and 25 were killed, while one sustained injuries, in a freak mishap on the Belapur-Deolali (Pravara) road in Shrirampur tehsil, Ahmednagar near Shirdi in the wee hours of Thursday when two speeding cars, a Swift and an Indica, rammed into a tanker.  

Sources said the speeding cars were being driven by youngsters who were allegedly participating in a race, during which they dashed into a tanker. The accident took place around 12:15 am.

The youngsters involved in the accident were going to Shrira-mpur town from Rahuri town for a birthday party in a hotel. On the way, they allegedly decided to race till the hotel, resulting in their cars colliding one after the other with a milk tanker coming from the opposite direction.
