Mumbai: The state government has said that it is looking into Maratha community’s demands, which have not been fulfilled yet. Around 90 percent of the demands made by the community have been met till now, claimed the state government after a meeting of the ministerial group, which was formed to address the issue.

Revenue minister and chairman of the cabinet sub-committee Chandrakant Patil chaired the meeting on Tuesday in Mumbai. Mr Patil said, “The cabinet sub-committee is appealing to the Maratha community to send all their demands. The state government would compile the demands, and the document will be submitted to the court. This would strengthen the argument in the court.”

The state government has also decided to give `10 lakh loan to farmers from Maratha community. The loan would be given through Annasaheb Patil Arthik Vikas Board. The sub-committee also took the several decisions such as reducing mark limit from 60 percent to 50 percent for Shahu Maharaj scholarship scheme and building hostels for community students in every district. The state government would manage the hostel, the committee decided.
