Mumbai: The Oshiwara police are in the process of recording the statement of the staff that was present for the shooting of the movie in 2008, during which actor Nana Patekar allegedly molested Tanushree Dutta, as per her complaint to the police. Officials said that the accused have not been summoned as yet for recording their statement.

The police have identified some spot boys and other artistes who were present on the sets while the song sequence was being shot in the presence of Patekar and choreographer Ganesh Acharya. The song was being shot with Dutta and side dancers. While the police are gathering accounts of what unfolded and how Patekar come into the picture, they are also ascertaining the sequence of events, which have been mentioned by Dutta in her statement.

Citing the lapse of time since the incident took place, the investigators are depending on witness accounts to verify the incident. However, officials are tightlipped on the number of statements they have recorded as of now.

Meanwhile, Dutta’s lawyer will approach the Bombay high court to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the Goregaon police and the CINTAA for their respective laxities. Dutta has alleged that the Goregaon police station did not put her sexual harassment complaint on record back in 2008.

In her fresh statement to Oshiwara police on Wednesday night, Dutta specifically mentioned that the police did not record her statement in 2008, as per her say. Only the FIR for rioting and causing damage to her car was registered keeping out the main grievance of sexual harassment from the FIR, she told police.

Dutta’s statement ran into four pages and it stated, “Many parts of my complaint have not been mentioned in the statement and not recorded as per my say. I could not understand the Marathi version of the FIR and instead of myself, the police took the complaint of my father as FIR bearing No. 179/2008.”

She further stated that after this incident she had been threatened, pressurized and undue influence was used to threaten her with a boycott from the film industry and to be implicated in false police case by Patekar, Siddiqui, Acharya and the political outfit Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
