The Shiv Sena on Friday advised its ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to “speak less” on the matters of Rafale deal, in which the Congress has alleged corruption, cautioning that unwanted statements may increase troubles for the national party.

The Sena also said the ban on NaMo TV could have been avoided had the BJP been satisfied with the coverage being given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign rallies on electronic channels.

Referring to the recently scuffle between two BJP camps in Jalgoan that had taken place in the presence of BJP strategist and irrigation minister Girish Mahajan, the Sena said that the shocking video was viewed across the country. It also said, “The BJP inducted goons in the party and turned them into ‘Valmikis’. However, the experienced Valmikis turned into goons and have indulged in violence. This is not only a blot Mahayuti’s campaign, but the time has come for the BJP to clarify its stand.”

The Shiv Sena said in the editorial of its party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, that the BJP, which calls itself a party with a difference cannot justify this violence and that the issue cannot be let off as difference of opinion.  

The editorial further said, “Going on the footsteps of the Congress due to the fallout in disciple after being in power is dangerous for Maharashtra.”

Moreover, Modi, Namo TV and Jalgaon clash between two of the parrty’s groups has made the situation restless.  It also said, “Atleast in the Rafale issue, we advise the BJP to talk with patience. Right from the defence minister to other leaders are speaking whatever they like. This may increase trouble for the party and therefore we advise that the lesser is spoken the better.”

Uddhav Thackeray led party also noted that the Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the government’s contention that sensitive documents accessed by a particular media house on the Rafale deal can’t be evidence and said it will examine the papers while reviewing its order of December 14 from last year when a clean chit was given to the deal.

The Sena also said the Election Commission of India (ECI) has ceased the airing of political content on NaMo TV and a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It also pointed out that except one or two channels, every channel have become ‘NaMo may’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches and his stand are being aired with prominence. At a time when the BJP has influence over electronic channels and the party is reaping its benefits, if the opposition to biopic on Narendra Modi or NaMo TV was kept in mind, the ban on them could have been avoided. It is the BJP’s internal matter if it needs a separate television for the PM’s publicity, it said.
