Mumbai: Former chief minister and chairman of Congress manifesto committee Prithviraj Chavan on Tuesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for the misleading the people over the state of the economy.

Mr Chavan urged the government to slash the goods and services tax (GST) over the automobile and real estate sector, and added that recession has badly hit the manufacturing sector.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr. Chavan attacked the chief minister for not doing enough to attract investments into the state.

“The state government is not doing enough through Ma-gnetic Maharashtra and Make in Maharashtra. The government must provide district-wise figures of the FDI inflow since 2014. I have been demanding the employment and investment figures but they have repeatedly denied them,” he said.
