Nine out of the 11 scientists at NASA were Hindus and Hindus had lots of capabilities, Shiv Pratishthan said.

During a speech in Solapur, he said that NASA’s satellite had landed safely on the moon because NASA launched it on the auspicious day of Ekadashi (the 11th day of the fortnight as per the Hindu calendar).

Mumbai: Right-wing leader and founder-member of the Shiv Pratishthan, Sambhaji Bhide, made a shocking statement on Monday.

During a speech in Solapur, he said that NASA’s satellite had landed safely on the moon because NASA launched it on the auspicious day of Ekadashi (the 11th day of the fortnight as per the Hindu calendar).

“The United States tried 38  times to send its satellite to the moon but failed. Thereafter, America decided to use the Indian system of time calculation and was successful because it was the day of Ekadashi,” Mr Bhide said.

Nine out of the 11 scientists at NASA were Hindus and Hindus had lots of capabilities, he said. “The Indian system can calculate up to the 1/1000th part of a second and nowadays, this system is being used all over the world to launch satellites,” he added.

Mr Bhide’s comment came after the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) lost contact with Vikram lander on September 7. No sooner Mr Bhide made such a remark, he was trolled relentlessly by netizens.
