Two students accused of sodomy sent to remand home
The police has questioned the principal and trustees of the school, and asked them to give a written reply to these questions.
Mumbai: In the wake of a 15-year-old boy being allegedly sodomised by two of his classmates on the terrace of a well-known Bandra school, the police is questioning school authorities about security norms (or the lack thereof).
The police is checking as to how the trio ended up on the terrace during school working hours without knowledge of any teaching or non-teaching staff, and how the terrace door was left open. The police has questioned the principal and trustees of the school, and asked them to give a written reply to these questions.
As reported by The Asian Age earlier, the two boys allegedly ragged the 15-year-old, forcing him into performing sexual acts. Post the incident, the victim’s parents first approached the school principal and then the police station. The Bandra police told this newspaper that the two boys have been arrested and sent to a remand home for juveniles.
Senior police inspector, Bandra police station, said, “The two minors have been booked under section 377 of the Indian Penal Code which pertains to unnatural sex, along with relevant sections of the POCSO Act.”
