Former BJP MLA visits MNS chief

Mumbai: Former Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Medha Kulkarni Tuesday met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence, Krushna Kunj. Ms Kulkarni said that she had come to invite the MNS chief for her daughter’s wedding. Whereas, the BJP denied a ticket to Ms Kulkarni in this election, giving it to BJP state chief Chandrakant Patil instead. Amid rumours that she would leave the BJP since she was denied the MLA ticket, Ms Kulkarni issued a clarification and said, “I was in the city just to invite Mr Thackeray for my daughter’s wedding and nothing else. It was just a formal meeting.” Sources however said that while the discussions were initiated for the purpose of marriage  invitation and lasted for half-an-hour, a few points regarding formation of the government were also covered. However, Ms Kulkarni’s visit was not political but  personal.
