Mumbai: BJP state in-charge, MP Saroj Pandey will be in Mumbai on Saturday. Buzz is that she will inquire into ongoing allegations against BJP minister Prakash Mehta. Pandey will report on the issue to BJP chief Amit Shah.

As BJP faces corruption allegations in two incidents within the span of a single week, the Centre seems to have taken serious note of the situation. First, Radheshyam Mopalwar, who was managing director of the Samruddhi Mahamarg, chief minister Fadnavis’ pet project, was said to have been shunted out from the project. Next, allegations against Mehta surfaced in the media. With the Centre having taken note of all this, Pandey will discuss these issues with state leadership as well as Mehta.

Asked about Pandeyy’s visit, Mehta said, “I am not aware about why Pandey is coming to Mumbai. But I will brief her about all the issues if she asks. My party is united in standing behind me. The CM has also clarified it.”

Pandey will send her report to Shah. Incidentally, it has always been said that Mehta is close to Shah. In light of this, Pandey is likely to gauge the mood within the state BJP over these issues.
