Mumbai: The Pune police arrested a Marathi actor from Mumbai in connection with an extortion case. The actor Sara Shrawan had filed a molestation case against another co-actor Subhash Yadav. Later, when he shot a video apologising for his actions, she demanded Rs 15 lakh for not making that video public.

The officials said that the whole incident started after Shrawan filed a case of molestation against Yadav after the release of their latest film. While the situation led to a full-fledged investigation, one of their co-actors friends sought to intervene and clear the misunderstanding.

Following the mediation by the said actor friend of the duo, Yadav shot a video apologising for his alleged actions and sent it to Shrawan. The twist however came in after she allegedly asked for money from Yadav to hush up the matter.

“He lodged a complaint following which a case of extortion was filed against Shrawan,” said a police officer.

In his complaint, Yadav has stated that she allegedly demanded Rs 15 lakh for not making the apology video public. The officials said that the same is being verified to ascertain the reason on the things souring between them.

The police said that another actor friend of Shrawan leaked the video and the matter turned murkier which also made him approach the police. A team of Pune police arrested her from Lower Parel in light of her anticipatory bail being turned down by a Pune court.
