Kolkata: A middleaged woman was allegedly molested and assaulted on Monday afternoon when she went to take back around Rs 46 lakhs from a promoter for failing to hand her over the possession of her flat in Salt Lake. She had given the money to him to build the flat a year ago. At around 3.30 pm the resident of AE Block visited the shop-cum-office address of Narsingh Goenka, the promoter, in BE Block and demanded her money back alleging that she did not get the possession of her flat.

The victim alleged that Mr Goenka’s son Brij Kishore teased her as the discussion rolled into a verbal duel between them, said deputy commissioner of police (headquarters) Amit Javalgi of the Bidhannagar City Police. Brij Kishore suddenly slapped her and assulted her also, according to preliminary investigation revealed. The woman lodged a complaint of molestation against him with Bidhannagar North police station. Brij Kishore’s father also lodged a complaint accusing her and her friend of threatening him for payment during their visit.

According to him, the woman threatened that if the money was not paid, she would teach him a lesson. Mr Goenka claimed that it was the woman who had slapped his son before calling some local residents led by one John Mukherjee who threatened him also at his address with dire consequences. His son was later arrested by the police on molestation charge.
