Two TMC groups clash, 3 arrested

Kolkata: In yet another instance of faction feud within the Trinamul Congress two groups clashed with each other over a blood donation camp leaving two persons injured in Kasba on Friday. Three persons were arrested by the police.

On the occasion of the Republic Day the blood donation camp was organised at Dhanmath area in Bosepukur Prantikpally.

To take credit of the event followers of a Trinamul councillor and aides of a Trinamul MLA fought in the afternoon.

Both sides were armed with rods and bamboo poles. They also hurled bricks on each other. A car was vandalised.

Two persons— Paritosh Biswas (47) and Ashok Shaw (37)— were injured in the clash. A police team rushed to the spot and tackled the situation. Both are residents of Naskar-para in Saroop Kalikapur. They were rushed to M R Bangur Hospital where they were treated before being discharged.

A case was initiated by the police on several charges including 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

Later Biswajit Saha (20), Chhotu Majhi (32) and Amit Yadav (22) were arrested by the police.
