Kolkata: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday branded journalists as reporters from CPI(M) mouthpiece Ganashakti after she lost her cool when she was asked ab-out the brazen attack by the police on media persons covering clashes between the Left Front workers and the cops during the “March to Nabanna” protest rally.

“I am not going to give you the answer,” Ms Banerjee told media persons before walking into the lounge of the Kolkata Airport. She also angrily asked a journalist to keep his mouth shut. Ms Banerjee, however, returned quickly and told media persons, “Ask the reporters of Ganashakti not to do politics.”

The CM’s anger came as the city police earned massive criticism for beating more than a dozen journalists on May 22 during the rally which witnessed violent clashes between the rallyists and cops.
