Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday affirmed that Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee would realise her misrule’s impact after May 23 when the Lok Sabha election results would be declared. Mounting pressure on the West Bengal chief minister, he called for her punishment because “neither the great history of this country nor the future would pardon her for whatever she has done in the state,” PM Modi said.

Mr Modi also asserted that the BJP would ensure ‘Nyay’ (justice) into the violence and atrocities perpetrated by the Trinamul on the people of the state. He also accused Ms Banerjee of fielding Bangladeshi actors for her party’s poll campaign for appeasement and votebank politics which never happened in the country in the past.

The PM told a rally at Buniadpur in South Dinajpur, “The whole country is saying that something big is happening in West Bengal this time. Your affection and confidence are showing what big is happening and how the vibe has been. The people of Bengal have made a determination. After May 23 Speebreaker Didi will realise what the results can be for unleashing hooliganism on the people, looting their money and stalling their development.”

Tearing into the Trinamul chief Mr Modi said, “The first and second phase of polling reports, which have come, have applied brakes on the sleep of speed-breaker Didi. I was seeing in the media how our sisters have taught a lesson to the goons of the Trinamul. Despite their several attempts and threats farmers, labourers, traders, employees, the young generation, our mothers and sisters went out in large numbers to cast their votes.”

He also asked the crowd, “Do the game of intimidation, loot and corruption need to continue in West Bengal further? Shouldn’t speed-breaker Didi get strong punishment? Will you give her the punishment in every polling booth, every lane and village? I am sure you will do it. And I have seen it in the first and second phases. Neither the great history of this country nor the future will pardon her for whatever she has done in West Bengal.”

Giving a prelude of his party’s task in future Mr Modi underlined, “The country is watching how heinious crimes are committed here. In Purulia one of our workers has been killed again. I and each and every functionery of our party stand by his aggrieved family. I assure each functionery of West Bengal BJP, each voter and each kid that Nyay (justice) would be delivered into these atrocities.”

He added, “The BJP will ensure the punishment of law into the violence and those who conspired orchestrated it on the people of Bengal. Nyay will take place surely. Such people will receive severest punishment.”
