SpiceJet explores to set up sea plane building unit

Kolkata: SpiceJet, the low-cost private airliner, is eyeing to set up its manufacturing hub of its sea planes in West Bengal.

SpiceJet chairman Ajay Singh informed people on Tuesday while speaking at the inaugural session of the Bengal Global Business Summit.

Mr Singh informed that his company was positively looking into the possibilities of manufacturing sea-planes in West Bengal. He underlined that the company is also mulling an option of building a hub in the state for the sea-planes which can fly to Gangasagar, Sunderbans and rest parts of the state.
