State to host Air Force Football championship

Kolkata: Air Force Football championship, one of the showpiece events in the Indian Air Force calendar, is going to be hosted in West Bengal for the very first time.

It will be organised by the Air Force Station Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas. A total of eight teams representing seven commands of the IAF and the Air Headquarters will participate in the hampionship. The tournament will start on June 14 and the final match will be played on June 21. The best players will be nominated to play for the IAF and subsequently for the Services team based on their performance.
