Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address about two lakh women members of various self-help groups (SHG) in Pandhakawada, the epicentre of farmer suicides in the state, in Yavatmal district on Saturday morning. This will be the first-ever visit by a Prime Minister to the town.

Co-operative banks have extended a loan to the tune of Rs 300 crore for SHG women and Mr Modi will distribute certificates to them, according to activist Kishore Tiwari, who is head of the state task force for the redressal of farmers' grievances.

Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao, chief minister Devendra Fadanvis and Union minister for transport, shipping and Ganga rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari, minister of state for tourism Madan Yerawar and others will be present on the occasion.

He will also distribute certificates/cheques under Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) to SHG women.
