New Delhi: Responding to BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi’s statements, JNU Students’ Union president Mohit Kumar asked if she and her party were ready to take oath for stopping mob lynching incidents.

“Will @M_Lekhi take oath that there will be no mob lynching and she and her party will not tolerate hate mongering. This will bring peace,” he said in a tweet.

Supporting the JNU vice-chancellor’s idea to procure and install a tank on the varsity campus, Ms Lekhi, on Thursday in the Lok Sabha, said JNU students must take an oath to protect the country’s pride and nationality.

This statement comes after the varsity administration had invited the JNUSU to discuss about the whole registration process and the positive developments that took place but the members allegedly did not turn up for the meeting.
