New Delhi: A BSF DIG’s house at Subramaniam Bharti Marg was found burgled on Sunday. Several valuables, including a laptop, hard-disks and other electronic items were found missing.

The incident came to light on Sunday evening when a BSF constable, who was on duty with the DIG, found the main door broken. He later made the PCR call.

According to the police, they received a PCR call on Thursday in which the caller, a BSF constable, informed that BSF DIG Aseem Vayas’s house was found burgled. The BSF constable in his complaint said that the DIG was out of station and his son locked the house at around 7 am. Later, the BSF constable went to check the house and saw it properly locked at 3 pm.

A few hours later, at around 6.30 pm, when he reached the house, he found the main door broken. He immediately informed the DIG, who instructed him to call the police.
The constable then made a PCR call and a police team reached at the spot to investigate the matter.

On receiving information from the BSF constable about the theft incident, the police summoned a forensic team. “A team of forensic experts visited the house and lifted fingerprints from the spot. The police also has questioned the BSF constable who was posted there,” said a BSF official on the condition of anonymity.

“We are investigating the matter and we need MAC (“media access control”) address of the missing laptop to trace it,” said a police official.

The police has filed a case under Section 454/380 of the IPC.
