Delhi police launches cyber cell site

New Delhi: To caution citizens against cyber frauds and educate them about the nitty-gritty’s of filing complaints relating to cyber crimes, the Delhi police launched a cyber cell website on Wednesday.

The website was unveiled by the Delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik in the presence of senior police officers.

The launch of the website was preceded by a seminar in which school computer teachers were made aware about the threats children face online and how they can help students in not falling prey to online tricks.

Patnaik stressed that cyber crimes not only cause physical losses but in some cases, can affect a person psychologically.

He also stressed upon the need for all the stakeholders, including police, media, schools, to come together in the fight against the growing menace of cyber crime.

There are 13-14 kinds of crimes prevalent in the cyber space and the website tells people how to prevent them, said Arun Kampani, joint commissioner of police (Economic Offences). Wing).
