CS case: FIR registered against AAP legislator

A first information report (FIR) under relevant sections of the IPC was lodged against Mr Balyan at Dabri police station on Saturday.

The complaint was filed by a policeman who was on duty when the MLA made the remarks at JJ Colony, Bindapur, on February 23.

New Delhi: In fresh trouble for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Delhi police on Sunday, registered an FIR against AAP legislator Naresh Balyan’s alleged statement made during a public meeting in Dabri that government officers, who create hurdles in works meant for people’s welfare, should be beaten up.

A first information report (FIR) under relevant sections of the IPC was lodged against Mr Balyan at Dabri police station on Saturday. The complaint was filed by a policeman who was on duty when the MLA made the remarks at JJ Colony, Bindapur, on February 23.

As per the complainant, he said government officers, who throw spanners in public welfare works, “should be beaten up”. He was referring to the alleged assault on chief secretary Anshu Prakash.
