Pilot duped of Rs 3 lakh, police lodge complaint

New Delhi: A pilot was allegedly cheated of Rs 3 lakh allegedly by a retired pilot for the treatment of his ailing wife.

The complainant, Captain Sajad H. Wani, a Gurgaon resident, alleged that he has been cheated intentionally by a former pilot, a resident of Dwarka.

Mr Wani had met him in Aug. 2016 through a common friend at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. The victim also met the ex-pilot on numerous occasions.

Mr Wani said in his complaint,  “He always appeared disturbed whenever I spoke to him or met him. On July 2, when I went to meet him, he appeared disturbed and showed me a hospital bill. He said his wife was admitted there for an abdominal surgery. So on July 6, I gave loaned him Rs 3 lakh to help him.”

 Later instead of giving back the money back, the ex-pilot The ex-pilot denied to return the money and also threatened the pilot to frame him in a false case on him through his wife to hamper his reputation.

“We have a filed a case in the matter,” a police officer said.
