New Delhi: As many as 446 complaints have been received against IAS and IPS officers for alleged misconduct this year, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said on Wednesday.

Out of the total, 331 are against IAS and 115 against IPS officers, he said.

"During the year upto October 2016, government has received 331 complaints against IAS officers, out of which 43 complaints are against IAS officers of Uttar Pradesh; and 115 complaints against IPS officers, out of which 15 complaints are against IPS officers of Uttar Pradesh," the Minister said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.

Complaints against IAS and IPS officers on matters pertaining to the government of India are examined by their respective cadre controlling authority i.e. Department of

Personnel and Training, and Ministry of Home Affairs respectively, on merit, Singh said.

Complaints against IAS and IPS officers on matters pertaining to the affairs of the state governments are forwarded to the state governments as the competent authority for appropriate action, he said.
