New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing general elections, the Delhi Election Commission (EC) has registered three cases under the model code of conduct (MCC) violation and filed 136 FIRs of defacement.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police, along with the I-T department, has seized Rs 660 crore in cash; 93,000 litres of liquor worth Rs 2.65 crore; and 1,339 kg drugs amounting to Rs 354 crore, said the Delhi chief electoral officials on Monday.

“The Delhi EC issued a notification regarding the cases registered during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections as 136 cases has been registered under the Delhi Prevention Defacement of Property Act. Of these, 12 FIRs were against AAP, 11 against BJP, two against INC, one against BSP, and one against others. 109 cases were registered against non-political offenders. In addition, 3,21,972 posters/banners were removed by the local bodies while 248 were removed by the police,” said Dr Ranbir Singh, the chief electoral officer.
