New Delhi: A priest and self-styled healer was arrested by the Punjab police at IGI Airport on Thursday after a woman complained he had raped her.

The accused, Bajinder Singh, against whom a lookout notice was issued by the Punjab police some time back, is the pastor of a church in Jalandhar district and is popular among people of that area as a healer.

The complainant told the police that she lived in Zirakpur town, adjoining Chandigarh, and that Singh had allegedly sexually exploited her and even recorded a video of the incident. All this happened in May. She alleged in her complaint that the accused used to threaten her that he would post the video on social media if she complained against him or did not agree to his demands.

He was arrested when he was about to board a flight for London, where he was scheduled to attend a healing event on July 21.

The accused had been booked on charges of rape, cheating, outraging modesty of woman, obscenity, causing hurt, criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the IPC and transmitting sexually explicit content of the Informa-tion Technology Act.

Besides him, three others have also been named in this case.
