New Delhi: A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his brother to death in Northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on Wednesday. The deceased, Kofi Ram (35), had come to meet his two brothers who stay in Jahangirpuri, from Nepal.  On Monday, Ram, his brothers Hira Lal (40) and Hemlal (43) were having beer.

During their drinking session, Ram demanded money from Lal. Ram also suggested that Lal should give him the money from his savings of Rs 1 lakh. The duo got into an argument and Ram threatened to break a beer bottle on Lal’s head.

Ram’s threats enraged Lal who picked up a knife kept nearby and slashed his brother’s neck. Realising what he had done, he fled from the spot while Hemlal  alerted their landlord, who informed the police.

A case was registered and during investigation, the police found that Lal was hiding at his brother-in-law’s residence in Paharganj. A raid was conducted and he was arrested.
