New Delhi: Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari met lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal on Monday in connection with the delimitation of municipal wards in the national capital. Mr Tiwari also demanded the AAP government to bring in public domain the final draft on delimitation else the party will be forced to hold demonstration in public interest.

Mr Tiwari thanked the L-G for giving his consent on the delimitation of municipal wards. “The Delhi government was sitting over the matter of delimitation with an apparent intent to delay the municipal elections and it was the sustained public campaign of Delhi BJP, including by Opposition leader in the Delhi Assembly VIjender Gupta, which forced the Kejriwal government to forward the concerned file to the L-G,” said Mr Tiwari.

Mr Tiwari said that the Kejriwal government is still delaying putting in public domain the details of structure of the new notified wards.

“Keeping in view the short time left for municipal elections, the AAP government should have notified details for public and political parties immediately after the L-G’s approval but it is still keeping it in pending,” alleged Mr Tiwari.
