Two Tis Hazari advocates accused of cheating

New Delhi: Two advocates, including a woman, have been accused of cheating and forgery in Tis Hazari court. The complainant stated that the duo dueped him on the pretext of waiving off the fine.

The incident happened in the Traffic Chalan court of Tis Hazari where the accused demanded Rs 3,800 from the victim, while the challan amount was of Rs 100.

In another incident, a female advocate lured a client by telling him that she has a ‘setting’ with the judge and the matter will be finished in minimal amount and took Rs 1,000 from him.

But when his name was called in the court, the female lawyer was no where to be found and he had to pay Rs 800 as fine.

According to the sources, when the victims told the court that thery were duped by the two lawyers, the court told them to register a complaint with police. The police have filed a case under Section 420 of the IPC.

To this, one advocate said that he was free to charge whatever amount as his fee.  The police has filed a wrong case against him and that he will take it up in the Bar Association.
