New Delhi: In order to provide a easier way of applying construction permits, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), has  introduced ‘Facebook’ and ‘Twitter’ accounts in the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ application. 

The civic body is the nodal agency for ease of doing business in respect of construction permits for the three municipal corporations.

According to a senior corporation official, Twitter handle, @EoDB_MCD, and Facebook page, eodbmcd, were two effective modes for two-way communication between the building department of the three municipal corporations and the applicants.

“The new additions will also prove to be useful to the professional architects empanelled with the corporations,” he said. 

“The two new tools will also help in disseminating latest instructions, information and changes, in the existing procedure, achievements, important suggestions and anomalies and obstacles for making for making the present application more useful and purposeful,” he said.

“The new social media tools have been incorporated so as to provide a better ease to the applicants for the construction permit,” the official added.

SDMC commissioner Dr Puneet Kumar Goel said, “Apart from this, the two new additions — FB and Twitter — are in tune with the concept of Digital India, being promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and they will go a long way in keeping all the stakeholders updated.”
