First-time voters want employment opportunities, powerful government

Scores of youths came out with a spark and voted for a powerful government in the national capital.

New Delhi: For Divya Dembla, an MBA student, who cast her vote for the first time to see that whichever government comes to power does make good relationship with foreign companies for providing employment to youth. Like Ms Demba there were many first-timers who had come to vote for their respective candidates who could ensure their employment.

Scores of youths came out with a spark and voted for a powerful government in the national capital. The first-time voters, in particular, were filled with enthusiasm were also welcomed by the felicitating with flowers in the national capital.

While using their voting right first time, the young voters felt that they are also participating to elect a new government. They were aware about the ongoing political issues and have their own priority and issue to elect their representative in the parliament. “Internal and external security are the prime focus of my vote criteria. Also I will vote for that candidate who will vote take strong action againt terrorism. The candidate or party who will improve medical facilities will also get my vote,” said Vikas Tomar, student, faculty of law, DU, who voted in Budh Vihar.

While others have different mindset to elect a government. “I want a visionary leader for the nation with a good leadership quality, who can make Delhi a safe place for women and a fast and more transparent judiciary system, said Ankita Dwivedi, who voted in Rohini.

Dolby Bahl, 21, a student of Lady Shri Ram College for Women said, that she would like the party that comes into power to provide education to everyone as it would help in forming a whole new image of the country. “I had the country and its welfare in my mind when I voted” she said.
