20-year-old jumps to death in hospital

New Delhi: A man in his 20s allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the top floor of Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital on Monday evening.

At around 7 pm on Monday, the police was informed about the incident.

During inquiry it was found that the deceased jumped from the seventh floor of the gynecology and childcare department of Guru Tegh Bahadur  Hospital.

The police found a bag on the floor from where he had jumped. An unsigned suicide note was recovered from it.

“In a two page suicide note, the man held no one responsible for his extreme step. He wished to donate his organs,” said a police official.

In the note, the deceased wrote that he was suffering from some ailment in which he experienced extreme pain in his head. He also expressed a desire that his organs be donated to needy persons.

The deceased was seen walking alone in a CCTV footage with a bag on his shoulder. He has not been identified yet, the police said, adding that further probe is on.
