Wall cave-in leaves woman dead

The victim was taking away clothes, kept for drying when the wall of the nearby compound collapsed on her.

New Delhi: A woman buried alive under the debris on Friday night after the wall of her house caved in on her in New Ashok Nagar due to heavy storm in Delhi.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Indu Devi (50). Police said that Indu, a housewife and a resident of New Ashok Nagar had gone to take out clothes from the verandah in the evening when the incident took place. 

Police said that the incident took place at around 5.15 pm on Friday. Wife of Arun Kumar Jha, Indu was taking away the clothes, which were kept for drying when the wall of the nearby compound collapsed on her. The 50-year-old got allegedly buried under the debris . Hearing loud shrieks of Indu, the family members rushed to her rescue and later took her to nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
