CBI gathers evidence against Satyendar Jain

New Delhi: The CBI on Tuesday claimed to have recovered four hard discs and three laptops, allegedly belonging to Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, from the premises of Delhi Medical Council president Arun Gupta.

According to CBI sources, during interrogation of Delhi Dental Council Registrar Rishiraj, agency sleuths got the input that these laptops and hard discs were in the possession of Gupta. Based on the information, CBI officials searched the premises of Gupta from where the recoveries were made, sources said, adding that these recovered electronic devises have been sent for forensic examination. The CBI also denied claims of Delhi government that the property documents allegedly linked to Mr Jain “were taken by the CBI in last year’s raid”. None of the three documents — two original property documents and a photo copy of power of attorney in question which were recovered during searches at Rishiraj’s residence were provided to at any stage or seized by the agency during earlier searches conducted at Jain’s residence, sources said. During searches at the premises of Rishiraj, agency officials also recovered details of an ICICI bank account allegedly linked to Mr Jain, who is facing CBI probe in the matter of amassing disproportionate assets, sources said. Rishiraj and N. Pradeep Sharma, a lawyer for the council, were arrested on Saturday night while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 4.7 lakh from a doctor, they said.
