10-year-old girl raped by uncle in East Delhi

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 32-year-old uncle inside her house in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Saturday night.

The police said that the accused was arrested while he was trying to escape the city on Sunday afternoon. The girl was sent for a medical examination and the reports have confirmed sexual assault.

According to the police, the incident took place on Saturday evening when the girl was alone at home. A complaint was filed by the victim’s parents on Sunday morning.

DCP (East) Pankaj Singh said, “In the complaint, the victim’s parents have alleged that on Saturday evening, when they were away for some work and their daughter was alone, the accused had come home. On finding her alone, he allegedly forced himself on her and raped her. Following this, he fled from the spot after threatening her of dire consequences.”

The police said that the victim narrated the ordeal to her parents on Sunday morning, following which the parents informed the police. Later, the police sent the victim for medical examination.
