Two arrested for duping youth over job pretext

New Delhi: The Delhi police cyber cell of southeast district has busted a gang of high-tech professional cheats who used to dupe unemployed youth on the pretext of providing jobs. An MBA graduate and his female accomplice were arrested from their office in Ghaziabad. Both of them had duped over 100 people, said the police.

The arrested were ide-ntified as Naina Singhal (27) who hails from Mor-adabad UP and Chetan Soni (27) who originally belongs to Unnao, U.P. They used to approach the aspirants pretending to be employees of Naukri.Com and would offer the jobs. They have bought misleading domain name similar to Naukri.Com and Hindustan Unilever etc.

DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said Naukri.com filed a complaint that some persons are being cheated by using their name and that in order to protect their own image and to compensate the unemployed job seekers, they had to pay the money to the victim. They had cited a recent case wherein one person was approached through email where the victim was induced to pay Rs 4,650 in the account.

Following extensive investigation, a raid was conducted on Monday where Naina and Chetan were present with the complete set-up. Initially, they denied, but then broke down and confessed.

During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that they both used to work in a consultant firm and developed good bond. Both the accused are highly educated. Chetan is double MBA in HR & Marketing and another MBA in Tourism. While Naina did her B.Tech in Computer Science.
