Fast-paced city life can sometimes be quite gruelling due to workplace burnout that most of us experience. This is the time when we are looking for the perfect vacay, to hit the refresh button and bounce back to normal. Just when I was reaching the tipping point of burnout, the invite to review Ramada Resort by Wyndham Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan landed on my editorial desk. Even when on a work trip little did I fathom that I will be in such a relaxed state of mind.

The journey from Mumbai to Udaipur via flight and then to Kumbalgarh by road was quite an ordeal. But finally, when my car stopped outside Ramada Resort by Wyndham Kumbhalgarh, my sleepy eyes popped open with the sight of the majestic entrance gate. It would not be wrong to say that to me it was like the entrance of a palatial property. The property resembled more like a fort and everything about the place reflected the rich culture and heritage of the place.

I was handed over the key to my private pool villa. The next morning I woke to a beautiful view from my bed on to the Lakhela River. My morning started happily and I headed for my breakfast. On the way to breakfast area i.e. Panghat, it was a refreshing sight with greenery all around. It is a stunning luxury resort and a perfect romantic getaway nestled in the Aravalli, overlooking the majestic Kumbhalgarh fort, whose fortification form the second largest in the world, after Great Wall of China.

Panghat serves a lavish spread of delectable and mindfully chosen healthy vegetarian breakfast option to kick-start the day. The food is tasty and has been mindfully curated to give healthy options to its patrons. The property serves pure vegetarian food across all the dining outlets – Panghat, Aakhali, Jhilmil and Jalsa Bar. Being an avid non-vegetarian, I savoured every bit of their vegetarian food. My personal pick would be vegetable clear soup, palak paneer and Rajasthan’s very own, Dal Bati Churma

Untouched by mass tourism, this property is the perfect place to rejuvenate and spend some quality time either with yourself or with your loved ones. This property is a destination in itself, which provides all modern-day luxury and amenities with a touch of rich cultural heritage. Since this place is less populated, the pollution level is low and full of greenery and clear blue sky to soothe the troubled mind. This is the perfect place to detox completely in the lap of nature in a tranquil environment.

Talking about tranquillity, one interesting and my personal favourite place in the resort is Thandi Beri, where a Buddha statue is placed under a tree and this is a peaceful place to be. While strolling through the property, you can have some good time feeding the fish in the pond and then if you choose you can sit under the tree for some silent and peaceful moment with yourself.

Each of the private villas with pool faces towards the lake. You can create a picture-perfect moment as you watch the sunset from your villa and you have a chilled out time at the infinity pool. The ray of setting sun on the shimmering water is a vision to behold.

Apart from the pool villa, it has the standard room, superior room, premier room, regal suite and the Raja/Rani Suite. Standard Room, Superior room and the premier rooms face towards the lawn while the rest of them towards the lake. The lush green lawn is beautifully dotted with trees on the sides and is shaped in numerical 8. Ramada Resort by Wyndham Kumbhalgarh has the largest banqueting venue in Kumbhalgarh spread across 42,000 sq. ft. Spacious banquets and plush lawn make it an ideal choice when it comes to a destination wedding.

You can choose to relax and calm your tired muscles at the Panghat spa, which offers a wide range of organic and herbal spa treatment. In terms of entertainment, you can witness the cultural dance show organised by the resort every evening from 7-9.30 pm.

Apart from this, if you wish to explore outside the property, some of the places you can visit are:

Kumbhalgarh Fort:  It is the birthplace of Maharana Pratap and a UNESCO World Heritage site that was built during the 15th century. Its wall is the second largest in the world after the Great Wall of China.

Ranakpur Jain Temple: Located 37 km from Kumbhalgarh, this temple has magnificent architecture, pillars and many more.

Haldighati: It is the site where the famous battle of Haldighati was fought between Rana Pratap and the Mughals in the year 1576. It is one of the most important historical sites in Rajasthan. Now this place has been converted to a beautiful museum.

Overall, it was a delightful experience for me to be at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan. Away from the cacophony of city life, this is the perfect place to have a good chilled out time, either with oneself or with friends and family. If digital detox is what has been on your mind, then Kumbhalgarh is the place and Ramada Resort by Wyndham just adds to your experience making it memorable for a lifetime.
