A safe way to share IDs
Telegram Passport is a new feature that allows users to store and share real-life IDs.
Popular messaging app Telegram has announced the addition of a new feature, Telegram Passport, which is an end-to-end encrypted service wherein users can store their real-world IDs in order to simplify sharing of information with apps and services that require these documents. One can easily store IDs like driving licence, passport, personal ID proof, address ID as well as phone numbers and email addresses safely; the app claims it will not have access to the user's personal data as it is protected by end-to-end encryption, much like the company's messaging servers. Data that the user chooses to share with other apps will go straight to the recipient, without access to Telegram. As of now, ePayments.com has integrated with Telegram Passport. The company expects more developers to come forward and implement it in their apps and services for free. Below are steps to try the feature in ePayments.com.
Head over to ePayments.com/tg and click on Sign up with Telegram.The link will redirect you to the Passport section in the Telegram app from where you will be prompted to create a password.
Follow the instructions and complete the validation procedure.Once enabled, fill in personal details and documents and click on Authorise to enable sharing of this encrypted information with the ePayments.
The uploaded data can be accessed on Android-Settings > Privacy & Security > Telegram Passport and on iOS-Settings > Telegram Passport.
