Social media has provided an opportunity to people for sharing their pictures as well as thoughts with a large number of people online. But sometimes people have landed in shocking situations while taking selfies or filming themselves.

In a disturbing video from North Carolina, a man ended up recording his own murder on camera. The 50-year-old was shot dead by a gunman while he was filming a live video on the university campus.

Prentis Robinson can be seen walking down the street with a selfie stick as he comes across a male shooter. The two exchange words and Robinson tells the man he is on live right before gunshots are heard as he falls to the ground.

The unidentified assailant fled the scene while police placed the campus on a lockdown to look for the gunman. Robinson had many live videos in the past few days and had been to the police station about his phone being stolen just before he was killed.
