Go past those ancient methods of dating by opting for activities that will give your partner and you an adrenaline rush.

Millennials nowadays seem to be very conscious about fitness and some of them get so lost in getting fit that their dating life has taken a back seat. Here are a few ideas of fun dates that they can have with their better half yet stay physically fit.

Coffee or movie dates are boring and in the past. If you and your partner are quite the fitness freaks and adrenaline junkies then why not look at a few options that can help enhance your physical fitness as well as bring joy to your romantic relationship. Opting for a physical activity together helps boost your energy and also fixes your mood.

If you are an adrenaline junky and your better half is a bit of a ‘scary cat’ then you can always persuade them to try something new, it might just get them started.  Nikhila, a recruitment officer at a reputed firm says, “Fai, my boyfriend at the time (husband now), and I used to do a lot of crazy stuff when we started dating. There was this one time, when I was working in Dubai and Fai had dropped by for a few days. We wanted to make the few days we had together memorable so he came up with the idea of going skydiving! I was scared out of my mind but I also really wanted to do it! I don’t think I’ve prayed so much in my life…hahaha.

When we went on our honeymoon too we did something adventurous – we went scuba diving! Swimming with the fishes was a whole other experience, but nothing beats the rush of skydiving. It was so good, we’re actually thinking of doing it again!”

Well, sometimes you can get lucky and it is a couple made in heaven. You can spice up your love life and wake up the inner demon that has been waiting to be caressed. We suggest you make a bucket list and tick against it once you finish. Rose Alappat, a part time arts and craft teacher and a hodophile says, “We’ve gone skydiving, bungee jumping, rafting, trekking to Trolltunga peak, scuba diving and paragliding. We’ve even kissed a giraffe. I have always loved travel and he likes wandering, that must have been the connect between us, apart from the fact that both of us like to add a little crazy to our daily activities. We started dating in college and eventually got married. It was only after marriage did we go on these crazy dates. This has kept the passion and love alive. For us, the thought of trying thrilling things and the experience, be it in a new place, nature in its rawness, or just the plain adrenaline kick from it, is true happiness! Now, we have a baby and we still chase our wild life together; we travelled to the Snow Mountains with a 6 month old baby.”

If you really do not have the time for travel but you realise you are at the verge of succumbing to the sedentary lifestyle then a simple date can help you rejuvenate with your loved one. Fernandes D’Costa, a senior operations manager at a reputed software firm says, “Sometimes the week is so stressful that I do not find time to speak to my wife or even express my love for her. I recently realised that this work life imbalance was affecting my marriage and so I surprised my wife by gifting her and myself bicycles. We now take it out for a spin after a heavy meal and hit the salad bar. My wife now loves the bicycle more than me. Staying fit as a couple is important for a healthy and happy married life.”
