Women pulled each other's hair and punched other women in the face over sarees distributed for a popular festival.

The government distributing sarees for a popular festival may sound like a good idea, but even seemingly pleasant initiatives can end up becoming quite ugly. A decision to give away Batukamma sarees for a festival in Telangana seems to have backfired and resulted in embarrassment for the government.

Things escalated quickly as a video of women fighting, pulling each other’s hair and punching other women in the face has gone viral on social media. While the situation went out of control with even a female constable failing to stop the women, the video got some pretty hilarious comments from social media users.

Despite all the mayhem and violence over the sarees, the initiative seems to have failed miserably with women protesting against Telangana CM KCR for distributing cheap sarees on such an auspicious occasion.
