In another new development to Harvey Weinstein debacle, Hachette Group, the publishing company that partnered with Weinstein to produce Weinstein Books has dissolved their deal.

A spokesman, confirmed, on Thursday, that it would no longer work with the imprint and that every author under its remit would now have their works published by them instead.

Weinstein Books' all-female staff will be absolved by Hachette as part of the decision.

It comes after authors including MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski threatened to pull out of pre-negotiated book deals in light of Weinstein's decades of sexual abuse and harassment against Hollywood actresses and film production staff.

Comedian Iliza Shlesinger who too has a publishing deal with Weinstein Books, however vowed to stand by Weinstein Books despite the scandal, explaining in a letter to fans that she did not want to punish the hard-working female staff at the imprint.

Among other authors, Padma Lakshimi has publicly condemned Weinstein and commended his accusers but said nothing of her deal with him in her comments.

Weinstein Books published other notable female stars including Raquel Welch. She has stayed quiet on the Weinstein scandal.
