The end of the world has for long been one of the most terrifying possibilities for humanity. There have been a number of theories and predictions which have claimed to explain how and when the world around us will collapse into oblivion.

Now experts are saying that out universe will one day be destroyed by the very particle which gives mass to all matter in it. A collision with a bubble of negative energy created by Higgs boson also known as the god particle will result in the abrupt end of the universe.

A new study says that unlike previous predictions about a slow demise, the universe will end with a bang like the one which led to its formation. It says the series of events leading to this may have already been triggered off due to interactions with black holes.

Experts suggest that the mass of the god particle may some day undergo change and might cause it to tear apart all processes making life in universe possible. This causes formation of a bubble of negative energy where laws of physics are obliterated.
