Kuwait: Stories of good samaritans displaying extraordinary empathy and humanity by helping others have been spreading hope in times of despair and hate, but at the same time there are individuals who display horrifying apathy and cruelty in incidents that shock the world.

A heartbreaking video going viral on the internet has sparked outrage as it shows an Ethiopian housemaid in Kuwait hanging from a building and crying for help, while her employer is filming a video instead of helping her.

As the maid keeps crying for help, her hand slips and she lands on a sunblind, but fortunately survives the fall. The local authorities have detained the employer for not helping her maid, and the Kuwait Society for Human Rights has asked for a probe.
