If you happen to suffer from hayfever, there’s a solution that will clear your sinuses even as it satiates your alcohol cravings. Instead of stockpiling antihistamines this monsoon, a study shows that what you should be stocking up on is gin.

Most alcohol is supposed to make symptoms of hayfever and asthma worse, due to their high content of histamines and sulphites. Over 64 per cent of asthma sufferers have admitted to alcohol making things worse for them.

However, clear spirits in general, and gin in particular, are actually low in histamines and while sipping it may not cure your hayfever, it is still the best drink to sip on while you are suffering from it.
